My book is here!

I could not be more excited to send it out into the world, so we can overcome fear together!

Becoming a better, happier mom starts with the stories you tell your kids.

As a mom, you want to nurture a strong family, but fear steals your joy. Sometimes you wonder if you're failing your children or whether you're cut out for this.

I understand. I was intent on loving my children well, but fear and worry pushed me around.

Ultimately, I found the strength to overcome in a most surprising place: the pages of classic literature I was reading to my children. These stories helped me reclaim the wonder of childhood for myself and my children.

In Mothering by the Book, I’ll take you on a fascinating, whimsical journey that will help you overcome fear so you can bring freedom and fun to your parenting--one great book at a time.

After talking to thousands of moms, I realized that the same things kept coming up for all of us: fears and anxieties about our ability to mother well.

But you are not alone. In fact, I’ve dealt with fear my whole life as a mom.

I was so excited about the process, but fear spoke to me constantly, telling me lies about my capability, my circumstances, and even God’s faithfulness.

Listening to fear caused a loss of joy as I became a victim of the lies that I was believing. I squandered so much time worrying about the “what ifs”, that it kept me from enjoying my children. It hindered connection.

I prolifically read parenting books in an effort to overcome my negative thoughts and be a good mom, but the thing that really made an impact was literature.

I read The Hiding Place while we lived through the pandemic, and knew that the God who kept Corrie ten Boom alive through the Holocaust could keep us safe, and I read The Endurance, about a feat of survival in Antarctica and knew that I could survive and thrive in my own circumstances.

I recaptured the magic of motherhood by fighting fear with literature and letting the truth of scripture carry it home.

You can love your life as a mom, and in Mothering by the Book, I’ll give you the insights that are helping me thrive and conquer my fears, so you can conquer yours and recapture joy and wonder.
